A Different Paradigm

By inducing the alpha response, one of the benefits of using the Chi Machine is its ability to reduce stress.

by Nathan L Lipton, M.D., F.A.A.O

We all walk around at the beta level of awake consciousness. Alpha is a deeper level and it is also known as the relaxation response. Dr. Herbert Benson, M.D. has an excellent book on this subject called The Relaxation Response.

When the Chi Machine shuts off and we feel that delicious flow of energy -- as we continue to lay still, our brain will shift to the alpha level.

There is an increase in the production of neurotransmitters such as melatonin and serotonin. Many people take antidepressant medication such as Prozac and others to increase the serotonin effect. This happens naturally at the alpha level -- without any of the side-effects that can accompany the antidepressant drugs.

Many people who are in a state of stress and anxiety for much of their waking hours have cortisol flowing through the bloodstream all the time. This is very deleterious to our system. Our adrenal glands produce cortisol, a hormone that is also known as the stress hormone -- only released from the adrenal glands into the blood stream when we are faced with physical danger.

At the alpha level -- the release of cortisol into the bloodstream is reduced virtually to zero. So if we use the Chi Machine a couple of times a day -- as most of us do -- our body gets a break from being in a state of constant stress. Hence we are able to relax and rejuvenate. Plus it just makes us feel so good!!!

The predominant type of medicine we have in North America, as well as in other developed countries, is referred to as Western or allopathic medicine. It is also the best in the world. We are blessed to be living here so we can benefit from this advanced form of medical care. When people of means who live elsewhere in the world get sick -- they will seek out medical care in North America or in one of the other many countries around the world offering this approach.

The paradigm characterizing this type of medicine is as follows: for each specific disease we use a specific therapy, typically medication. Thus the treatments are disease-specific. So, if we have diabetes, we will use a drug such as Glucophage. If we have another disease, such as arthritis, Glucophage will be of no use. We have to use a drug that is specific for arthritis.

However, there is another paradigm, referred to as energy medicine, which can be exemplified by The Chi Machine. In my experience with hundreds of patients, The Chi Machine has proven therapeutically beneficial for the following conditions:

  • Anklyosing Spondylitis
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • PeripheralNeuropathy
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • MultipleSclerosis
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Obesity
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Peripheral Neuropathy

How is this possible? How can a single therapy help so many diverse conditions? This simply doesn't fit our traditional medical paradigm.

The Chi Machine empowers the body to heal whatever pathology is afflicting it. The human body was designed and built by God in heaven the greatest architect and creator of all. The good Lord also built into our human anatomy an energy source - which is called different names by various cultures. The Asian culture calls it Qi or Chi. The East Indian culture labels it Prana. In Jewish terminology, the term is one that is very similar to the word Chi; that word is Chai. No matter the name used, they all refer to the same phenomenon.

This Chi energy exists in every human being as a dormant, latent or potential energy source. Often this energy is present flowing at a very low level, but it is possible to manifest or activate this energy: When this is done - two things happen:

We feel wonderful. Healing of virtually any disease is possible in an accelerated fashion. The trick is how to stimulate or activate our Chi energy.

The great genius of Dr. Shizou Inoue was his development of a mechanical device-- namely The Chi Machine as an effortless, enjoyable way to get the Chi energy flowing.

The Chi Machine - in an almost magical fashion - is able to instantly power up the Chi energy force in our bodies. I have had some patients - the very first time they use The Chi Machine - describe that their entire body is vibrating when it stops moving. For many it is very profound.

And the therapeutic results are often extraordinary. This is the power of The Chi Machine. All of us who have been working with The Chi Machine - using it ourselves and introducing it to others, are acquainted with incredible even miraculous healings that have been achieved with The Chi Machine.

As a physician I never ceased to be amazed at what The Chi Machine is capable of as a treatment device. My mission is to accelerate the acceptance of the Chi Machine and the HotHouse far Infrared Dome among doctors and other health care professionals everywhere.

Of course, one doesn't have to be a doctor to introduce the Chi Machine to others. All of us can share The Chi Machine with those who are in pain or who have a condition from which they have been unable to get relief.

The worst thing is for someone to be suffering from a condition unnecessarily - because they simply don't know about an effective treatment that is available. Most people have never heard of The Chi Machine. Our mandate then is to be of service to others, by continuing to spread the word about the amazing Chi Machine.

Doctors and The Chi Machine

Dr. Nathan Lipton, MD Ophthalmologist

Recently, I had a conversation with a friend, a psychiatrist - about The Chi Machine. Her in-laws have one and are benefiting from its use. My friend kept asking me to explain what The Chi Machine does and how it works. I told her everything I knew in response to her question, but it seemed no matter what I told her, she just couldn't understand. Finally, I took another fact; I knew that in her specialty, patients are sometimes treated with ECT (electro-convulsive or shock therapy). I asked her to tell me how that worked. She struggled to explain telling me how the ECT "rearranges the ions in the brain etc.", it was obvious that she really didn't have a clear idea of how that treatment worked. All she did know was that ECT worked on some patients. I told her The Chi Machine also worked. After that, she stopped questioning me about The Chi Machine.

Many members of the medical profession don't know what to make of The Chi Machine. I guess I am an exception. I have always been open to anything that might help my patients (as well as my family and myself) - even if it is outside main -stream medicine. I take this approach, because there are many conditions in my field of ophthalmology, as well as medicine in general, for which we do not have a cure or satisfactory treatment. Regrettably, many of my professional colleagues are closed-minded toward anything not taught in medical school, medical conferences or professional journals. Another major source of information to doctors comes from detail men (and women) - representatives from pharmaceutical companies who regularly call on doctors to educate (i.e. promote) the latest advance from their company; obviously, these individuals are not very objective in what they impart. Nevertheless, the drug companies have found that their representatives are able to effectively influence the prescribing habits of the medical profession.

One of the first patients I introduced to The Chi Machine was Mary Anne Hill. She and her husband David were in my office for eye exams. Mary Anne has multiple sclerosis, which required her to use a wheelchair. After she tried The Chi Machine for 10 minutes she noticed that the muscles in her legs were not as stiff and became more mobile; plus she was delighted with how "good she felt". They ordered a Chi Machine and after using it for a month, she went to the medical school here in Dallas to see her neurologist. He asked her how she was doing with her MS and she said, "I am doing fantastic!" Her doctor was a little surprised and then she informed him she was using her Chi Machine every day and that was helping her improve more than any other therapy before. He looked at her and asked, "What's a Chi Machine?" He contacted me and I provided some information for him.

As an ophthalmologist, I am regularly referred patients by numerous rheumatologists. Many arthritis patients are prescribed a medication called Plaquenil, which is an effective drug but has the potential to cause serious vision problems. The protocol for patients taking Plaquenil requires them to be checked by an ophthalmologist every 6 months. Fortunately, vision problems are extremely rare. Since having The Chi Machine and Hot House, I have introduced these devices to arthritis patients who despite excellent care by their rheumatologists were still very symptomatic. Some began using The Chi Machine, plus, in some cases, the Hot House and experienced significant improvement in their symptoms. When these patients reported improvement to their rheumatologist, the doctors contacted me for information. To his credit, one rheumatologist purchased a Chi Machine.

I participate in an online discussion with other ophthalmologists all over the world who are performing LASIK laser vision correction. Someone posed the question about how to relax LASIK patients pre-operatively. I informed the group about how I put my LASIK patients on The Chi Machine and under the Hot House for 10 minutes immediately prior to their procedure. This led to questions and discussion about The Chi Machine. One doctor ordered The Chi Machine; after he used it himself for a few days, he sent me an e-mail with a very succinct but powerful message: "It works!"

I am on a mission with The Chi Machine and the Hot House: to educate physicians and other healthcare professionals, as well as the public, about these incredible devices. If I never earned a nickel marketing these products, I would promote them just as actively as I am presently doing. Obviously, one doesn't need to be a physician to do this; all of us who believe in the health benefits of these amazing machines can carry this message to the world. As a result of our efforts, we will help others to live long and healthy lives.

The Far Infrared Hothouse

Dr. Nathan Lipton, MD Ophthalmologist

Not long after obtaining and discovering the wonderful benefits of the Chi Machine, I became curious about another device made by the same company, called the Hot House or the Far-Infrared Dome.

I ordered it and found it very pleasant to use by itself or in conjunction with the Chi Machine. Around this time, my wife developed arthritis in her right hip and big toe. A rheumatologist, who recommended powerful anti-inflammatories that might have been very effective but can also cause side effects, saw her.

Rather than go the pharmaceutical route, she began using the Hot House for two 20 minute-sessions daily over her hip and foot. Within one month, all her symptoms resolved which was very impressive to me. With continued use, she remains pain-free.

Before long, I brought the Hot House and Chi Machine into my office to use with patients. The main surgery I perform is LASIK laser vision correction and I have found it extremely helpful to place all my patients on the Chi Machine and the Hot House for 10 minutes before their procedure.

I also introduced the Hot House to patients whom I felt could benefit from its use. One of these was Mr. Neil Hendrikson who reported his experience as follows:

"Dear Dr. Lipton

Thanks for recommending the FIR HotHouse. I was in terrible pain, gone to every doctor, MRI, the works. I have bone spurs, and two bulging discs in my back. I was bedridden, taking pain pills and having terrible back spasms. I had made an appointment with a pain specialist when I remembered Dr. Lipton's FIR machine. I had one air freighted to my house. What a miracle! In seven days, no medicine was needed. My wife even started using the HotHouse for sciatica with great relief.

Thank you Dr. Lipton."

This and other patient's experiences with the Hot House demonstrated that far infrared rays have unique therapeutic properties.

How does far infrared work?

There is an excellent article in the January 2001 issue of Alternative Medicine Magazine that addresses this question.

In brief, here is a summary of the mechanisms and benefits of the Hot House Far Infrared unit:

  • The Hot House raises body temperature (also known as hyperthermia), which has many benefits.
    • It promotes the killing of many pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites.
    • Second, it modulates the immune system by increasing production of cytokines (special immune cells that play a very important role in disease control). In Europe and Central America, people pay exorbitant amounts of money to bring cultivated cytokines
    • in for their health needs. The HotHouse promotes the production of our very own (biologically safe) cytokine cells (without fear of external contamination and excessive costs).
    • Third, it coordinates the immune response against mutated cells. (Mutated cells are genetic variants that occur randomly or because of environmental changes; they are usually not favorable to the survival of the person in whom they occur).
  • The HotHouse helps athletes recover faster from athletic trauma; especially the combination of the HotHouse and the Chi Machine, helps tissues repair by increasing oxygenation to the tissues and reducing the production of lactic acid. Also, through increased lymph drainage, the accumulated lactic acid from the injury is resolved sooner. It also promotes rebuilding of injured tissue by having a positive effect on the fibroblasts (connective tissue cells necessary for the repair of injury). Furthermore, it increases growth of cells, DNA syntheses, and protein synthesis all necessary during tissue repair.
  • The HotHouse promotes Chinese meridian regulation. Far infrared can penetrate up to 4 cm (1 1/2 inches) into the body. This excites the vibrational energy of the molecules and resonates with the cellular frequencies, and thus promotes the proper flow of energy or chi throughout the body. This in turn promotes all bioprocesses, increasing metabolism, increasing blood circulation, and the core body temperature. One hour under the HotHouse burns over 900 calories by raising the metabolism and body temperature.
  • The HotHouse detoxifies the environmentally patient. Far infrared brings about significant detoxification of heavy metals including mercury and other environmental pollutants.

Finally, I will share my own personal experience with far infrared. Several months ago, I woke up and noticed there was a lump about the size of a grape on the right side of my neck. It wasn't there the day before and I felt fine otherwise. What was it? It was likely a lymph node which certainly is a source of concern. When I got home that evening, I got under the far infrared unit for 2 hours - when I finished this treatment, the lump was unchanged. The next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror, I was amazed to see the lump had shrunk 80%. I only wish I had taken a photograph. After another week of treatment, it disappeared.

I know that far infrared units are used in Europe and Asia to treat almost every health condition with therapeutically significant results. As a physician, I am on a mission to help educate other physicians about far infrared and how this wonderful modality can be used to help their patients remain healthy.
